Summary

OXBO are working with a multi-billion dollar asset management firm operating across the USA, UK and UAE. The role supports the the front office business in a team consisting of software engineers, quants, and data scientists that provide business solutions for the cross-asset investment team.

The position will play a pivotal role in contributing to a high-performing team responsible for the software design, architecture, development, and maintenance of the firm’s core systems. 

The role is based in Stamford, CT and will work on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

  • Software Architecture and Infrastructure:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for software development and architecture with a priority on cloud and mobile.
  • Design the architecture to accommodate future technologies in a more plug and play fashion with existing platforms and make software solutions more modular in nature to help alleviate some of the domain specificity in projects or tasks.
  • Help Interface and work with a DevOps team to help deployment of code become a robust and controlled process.
  • Contribute ways of standardizing software to help support teams have extreme insight and discovery abilities. Partnering with support teams will be essential to offload any repeatable support tasks and create opportunities to innovate.
  • Contribute to an environment that supports innovation, this may incorporate ways to bring functionality to new areas of application. This may include AI or ML implementations or integrations into existing systems.
  • Contribute to OEMS transformation program by developing high performance, low latency, high quality software that scales effectively with the growing requirements of the firm
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data privacy standards.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a software engineering role within the financial industry, buy-side experience is a bonus
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C# and SQL.
  • Expertise in software development processes and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and data sources.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Works well in a distributed team
