Summary

OXBO are supporting an established Solar & BESS developer, who have developed over 1GW of solar & BESS projects in the past 10 years.

They are seeking a Development Manager to contribute to the development of their existing portfolio as well as the construction of new assets that the business is acquiring

This role requires someone in their offices in Bury St. Edmunds 3 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support project development and delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Negotiate land agreements including heads of terms, leases, options, and easements; manage and extend existing agreements.
  • Coordinate with legal advisers to finalise contracts efficiently. Manage grid connection offers and agreements; liaise with DNOs and National Grid to secure and optimise connections.
  • Oversee planning process, including managing consultants, submitting applications, and discharging conditions.
  • Support site selection and feasibility assessments using GIS and land appraisal tools.
  • Assist with commercial activities such as due diligence, financial appraisals, and project transactions.
  • Engage with landowners, local authorities, consultants, and utilities to drive project progress.
  • Represent the organisation in meetings, site visits, and stakeholder discussions.

Experience Required

  • 2–5 years’ experience in land or energy project development (renewables, battery storage, solar, or related sectors).
  • Strong understanding of land acquisition, planning, and grid connection processes.
  • Strong understanding of project construction and delivery, including EPC contract negotiation, equipment procurement and construction project management.
  • Confident negotiator with experience managing Heads of Terms, leases, land agreements and contracts.
